Dr. Nguyen Thi Thu Hien is an Of Counsel at Ngo & Partners also serves as a lecturer at the Faculty of Law, School of Economics, Law, and Public Administration, University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City (UEH). With over 20 years of extensive experience in international trade law, competition law, contract law, bidding, commercial dispute resolution, import-export, and customs, she is recognized as a leading expert in Vietnam and the region.
Dr. Hien graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Law (2000), a Master’s Degree in Law (2004), and a Doctor in Law (2014) from Hanoi Law University. She has participated in advanced training programs at Hanoi Foreign Language University, the University of New South Wales (Australia), the University of the West of England (UK), and conducted research on European Contract Law at the Max Planck Institute (Germany).
Dr. Hien has an extensive academic background, having served as the lead author and contributor to textbooks on bidding, international trade law, commercial dispute resolution, and numerous research papers published in reputable domestic and international journals and conference proceedings. She has held significant leadership positions, including Chairperson of the Faculty Council and Vice Dean at Hanoi Law University, as well as the Legal Director and Chairwoman of the Trade Union at FLC Group.
Dr. Hien is an independent expert for the World Bank and has contributed to projects funded by EU-MUTRAP, USAID, and the Knowledge Sharing Program (South Korea). Dr. Hien currently serves as an arbitrator at the Vietnam Traders Arbitration Centre (VTA), acting a key role in resolving complex commercial disputes. With her expertise and practical experience, Dr. Hien provides strategic legal solutions that meet high standards for corporate clients and international organizations.
As an Of Counsel at Ngo & Partners, Dr. Hien is a valuable addition to the legal team, particularly in the areas of mergers and acquisitions, investment, corporate law, international trade, and complex commercial dispute resolution.
